TALKING ABOUT...DREAMS

http://dailybreakingnews75.testreference.net/imgs/21a47b72683bc350c7dd11d3f6398ff7I remember a lot of times I dreamt I was falling: I stayed on the top of a building (I don't know which one...maybe my school) and I fell but I didn't touch the floor because I woke up...but sometimes I fell aslept another time and I was able to go on dreaming... I know it's strange, but I can control my dreams, telling myself I mustn't be worried or afraid 'cause I'm just dreaming and I can decide when I have to wake up!
Some people think this kind of dreams mean that we feel lost and the only thing we can do to find our own way is falling or flying away. It's one of the most possible dreams: I don't know anybody that have never dreamt it during his life!

http://healthy-lifestyle.most-effective-solution.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/dream-about-being-chased.jpg
Another dream we've to describe is about being chased by a car, by an animal, by a murder...people say it could mean we're trying to run away from our responsibilities or, sometimes, we dream it when we're ansious...

http://romoletto.altervista.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/correre.jpgThen we can dream of not to be able to run or to talk when we're in need, for example, we're in need to run because we're chased by someone but we feel our feet so heavy that we
can't or our voice can be like stopped by our throat and we wake up so confused. Maybe, it means that we have a secret to keep but it's really hard for us or we could be worried but we're frightened by talking 'cause we think it's not a good solution to our problems.

LEARNING DIARY: NOVEMBER

https://fanart.tv/fanart/movies/2310/movieposter/beowulf-52dd6aac016bf.jpgLast month, we learnt something new about literature, such as ballads, medieval and modern kinds, and we talked about their main themes, like family tragedies, and we saw, for example, Lord Randal or Barbara Allen, but also those ones by Bob Dylan. Then, we discussed about USA elections and criticized them. Now we're starting to study King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table with their deeds. We had also to do a test about literary contents, first of all about Old English and the evolution of the language with the Epic poem, starting with Beowulf.

ROCCA DEL DRAGONE

http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/2519679.jpg
It's situated at the top of Monte Petrino and today there we can see some towers with different shapes. They were built in different periods and probably there was an old building from which our fortress derives. It was built in medieval time and it was useful to take care of the town, far from dangers (for example, people could see until the see from the top and, so, they were able to observe when their ennemies were arriving or leaving their boats to attack the population and destroy the town). Today some tourists come here to see Mondragone from the top and, sometimes, during the month of september we celebrate Lumina in Castro, a festival of drama to remeber the importance of that fortress since the past; that night our fortress remains enlightened and I find it something really wonderful!
I also remember italian and foreign people who admired the panorama and took photos, first of all in summer time! It was something so nice!

THE PAUL STREET BOYS

http://blog.pianetamamma.it/scarabocchiandofavole/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/extrafiletxt_file200710045509656.jpgThis film derives from the same hungarian novel and it talks about a group of boys that want to fight against another group of boys to play. They in an old man's courtyard, but the protagonist, Nemecsek, that's 11 years old, falls ill just when his friends have to fight; so, he decides to get up in spite of his illness to help them; he and his friends win the war, but he dies and so the end is very sad!
The book was written by Ferenc Molnár, while the film's director is Maurizio Zaccaro and it's set in Italy. I think this film is really sad but it's also a good teaching for coward people that run away when they find something difficult!

NUOVO CINEMA PARADISO

http://quinlan.it/upload/images/2014/11/nuovo-cinema-paradiso-1988-giuseppe-tornatore-005.jpgThis movie was writter and directed in 1988 by Giuseppe Tornatore and it's one of the most beautiful italian movies. It won the Oscar Prize for the Best Foreign Movie. The first version lasts 173 minutes, one the second one, that was international, lasts 123 minutes: it's shorter but very exciting!
It's set in Sicily during the period after the Second World War and it talks about the first italian cinema, so it's both a historical and artistic movie. The special effects are really nice and we can see that, for example, in the scene where the cinema is burning: the flames seem so real! But the most emotionant scene, according to me, is that when the protagonist is leaving his town, his relatives and friends and one of them, the cinema's director tells him that he mustn't come back anymore and he must go on during his life! When I saw it I was just to cry... I could say it was simply exceptional! I think it's one of the biggest italian successes!

LONDON PICTURE

This picture shows London, UK capital city, seen from the top during the sunset... in the middle of this picture we can see the London Eye; on the left there is the Big Ben and in front of that we can see the Tower with its spires. There are some bridges that cross the river to go from a part of the city to the other. We can see also lots of magnificent monuments at the bottom of the picture.
I think it's a really great picture... I've never visited London, but it seems a really beautiful city... I think that the sun rays on the city make it all more precious!

MISS FLETCHER

Risultati immagini per miss fletcherI don't like very much watching TV series... I usually do other things in my free time, but sometimes I watch some misteries, 'cause I'm interested by the job of the investigators; I like watching "Mrs. Fletcher". All the episodes are different, because every time she has to investigate on a different kind of crime. It's realistic: there aren't any differences between the serie and the real world.

I know this TV serie is followed by lots of people in the world. I like it but I don't think I'd work as Mrs. Fletcher does, because it's really dangerous! Infact, she's often in danger but she usually saves herself... maybe it could be difficult for me!

DISNEYLAND, IN CALIFORNIA

https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4007/4528877926_cfc2919b8a.jpg
I've read an article about Disneyland, one of the most important theme parks in the world. It opened in California in 1955, thanks to Walt Disney, who bought an apartment with the park around it. Its history starts with a disaster: someone created fake tickets to enter when the park was handselled and so there were too many people! But, maybe, after that time, lots of people from all over the world were fascinated and so, today, they visit the park, above all, for children. One of the most known attractions of Disneyland is the Big Thunder Railroad, that was the cause of the last big accident we remember, in 2006, in that lots of people were injured and someone else died too. There are lots of places where you can eat something, but only one in which you can drink alcoholic drinks, that's named "Club 33": to enter there you have to book 10 years in advance!!! I've never visisted it but I think it would be a really nice experience!

MALCOLM X

Malcolm X was born in Omaha, on the 19th of May 1925. He was an American activist that worked for the Afroamerican human rights. He's considered one of the biggest leaders of the Civil Rights Movement, with Martin Luther King.
http://www.legalitaegiustizia.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Malcolm-x.jpg
He thought that Islam was a religion able to destroy the racial segregation.
His true surname was Little, a slave name, but he had to create a new surname, X, to signifie his lost tribal name.
He was killed during a speach in Manhattan when he was 39 with a firearm, but he'll never be forgotten by the people that talk about the "Black History Month".

TARANSAY ISLAND

The article I've read talks about Taransay, an uninhabited island that's situated in Scotland. People who like relaxing can go there on holiday, there aren't any shops so they have to be careful to bring their supplies. There aren't any electronic objects, you only hear the sheeps' bleating and their bells' ringing. There haven't been any people since the '70s when the last fisherman leaved and Angus Mackey tells us that he stayed there for a period and he liked very much this place: he and other people who visited it consider it like a "Heaven on the Earth". You feel in a really natural world!

CHEESECAKE WITH STRAWBERRIES

I like this cake very much because it's quite sweet but not too much. I eat it about five times a year. It's sweet, inviting, tasty, nice, coloured, fresh.
To make it, I need a pack of cheese, a bag of strawberries, a few of strawberry scirop and some biscuits.
First, I prepare a biscuits' ground; next, I put the fresh cheese; then, I put the scirop on it and cut the strawberries; finally, I put the strawberries on the cake and put it in the fridge to make it fresher.
I think its flavour is really nice!

THE HOLOCAUST

“Monsters exist, but they are too few in number to be truly dangerous. More dangerous are the common men, the functionaries ready to believe and to act without asking questions.”
- Primo Levi

I've chosen this quotation because I consider it really sincere for its message and 'cause I know that Primo Levi lived this experience and so he knew the sadness of the people who stayed with him.

In this picture, I can see and imagine the sadness of the people, also guys like me, that know their life is finishing but they don't know why...

In this video, by the famous movie "Schindler's list", we can see what happened to the Jews that he couldn't save from a sad end.

... music by the same movie...

DAVID BOWIE

David Bowie, a polyhedric and aggravating artist and songwriter, was born  in Brixton on the 8th of January 1947, with the name of David Robert Jones. He recorded his first disc in 1964, but he reached the success unexpectedly with the single "Space Oddity", about science fiction.

In 1972 he triumphed with the album "Ziggy Stardust".
At the end of the 80s he reached another success in cinema with "Last temptation of Christ" in 1988.
He had cancer and died in New York on the 10th of January 2016, while his last record, "Blackstar", was coming out, like a goodbye to the world.
